Gilts
These are securities issued by the UK Government when it wishes to raise money. They pay a fixed rate of interest and can be held within an investment portfolio in a pension.
Growth Fund
This is a type of fund that aims to increase its share or unit price over time. Growth funds will tend to concentrate on funds which reinvest profits to grow value, rather than those which regularly pay out dividends to shareholders. They are a popular investment choice for a pension.
